A Real Step Forward: The Door May Finally Be Opening for Philippine Carabao Mangoes in Australia

Packing operations from an earlier Philippine mango export run — a reminder that the capability is there, and with the right alignment, it can move again.

Our last blog struck a chord with many people. While it reflected the frustrations and realities of where things stood, it also sparked something important: positive reactions, renewed conversations, and a stronger sense that people are now ready to move.

That matters.

For the first time in a while, there is now real reason to be hopeful. We are seeing encouraging signs that both the grower side and the packing and processing side — including the pathway involving a VHT plant — are now being actively worked on. This is a major development and could become the breakthrough needed to finally bring Philippine Carabao mangoes back into Australia on a proper and sustainable basis.

There is still work to do, of course. The next step is to meet face to face, iron out the details, and secure the commitments needed to build a steady, reliable source of supply that can truly meet the expectations of the Australian market.

But this time, the conversation feels different.

There is movement. There is intent. And there is now a genuine possibility that we may soon be back in business.

For everyone who has waited, supported, asked questions, and refused to give up on the idea that Philippine Carabao mangoes belong in Australia — this is the most encouraging update we have had in some time.

Stay tuned to this channel for more updates. We expect to share more by the first week of May, and if things continue in the right direction, we are hopeful that an agreed timeline will also begin to take shape.

The dream is still alive — and perhaps now, closer than it has been in a long time.
